Cocktails and Company: Corporate Events Launch at The Wayback

The Wayback had the absolute pleasure of hosting "Cocktails and Company," a launch party for Plan On It as they expanded into the corporate and social events sector. Having worked with Shelby and Lauren from Plan On It for years, hosting multiple weddings at our venue annually, we were thrilled to help them celebrate this exciting new chapter in their business. This launch party showcased how The Wayback can transform into the ideal venue for corporate celebrations and business launches and how the team at Plan On It can help make that happen.

A Curated Celebration

The "Cocktails and Company" theme came to life through fun, vintage-inspired decor that featured playful stripes throughout the entire event space. Each of the eight custom vigenettes featured a different color palette of peach, green, orange, and blue stripes against crisp white, creating an aesthetic that was both sophisticated yet playful, exactly what Plan On It wanted to convey about their expanded services.

Plan On It transformed The Wayback into a corporate event wonderland, with each rental setup from Party at The Moontower, Table Manners, Strong Events- Austin, and BBJ La Tavola creating different seating areas that flowed seamlessly throughout our venue. The vintage stripe pattern tied everything together while allowing each activation space to have its unique personality.

Interactive Experiences Throughout the Venue

What set this corporate event's launch apart was the variety of activations that kept guests engaged throughout the evening. The event featured multiple vignettes showcasing the various elements you can expect when hiring Plan On It for your corporate event. One of my favorite parts of the design process was how they incorporated a watercolor map of the property within the event, which highlights the different areas to visit when attending the event. This map guided guests to various places throughout the property where they could enjoy themselves.

One of the first stops was a cider tasting by Texas Keeper Cider that allowed guests something to sip on as they ventured throughout each area of The Wayback. Guests could sample different varieties while mingling and learning about Plan On It's expanded services. Another one of the vignettes featured games such as chess, where attendees could relax in one of their curated areas. While some guests were relaxing throughout the different areas of the lawn, there was a lot of attention around the live engraving station by Amanda Reid Designs as she created business card holders that guests could take home as a memento of the evening. Meanwhile, Love Mom and Pops provided a popsicle pop-up that added a fun dessert option to the celebration.

Having our venue provide both the space and the culinary experience allowed Plan On It to focus on the event design and guest experience, demonstrating the seamless partnerships that make corporate events successful. This collaboration highlighted how The Wayback can serve as both a venue and a catering partner for corporate launches and business celebrations.
