Adapting to the Unexpected
From the start of their wedding planning journey, Maryn and Tanner envisioned a wedding filled with bright colors and lush florals. They planned for their ceremony space to be full of vibrant flowers lining the aisles and a beautifully decorated altar, making the ceremony into a lush garden. But as anyone who has planned a wedding knows, the unexpected must always be expected. For Maryn and Tanner, the forecast hinted at rain on their big day. However, their wedding planner, Mackenzie, and her team had the backup plan ready. The team of vendors, along with our dedicated staff at The Wayback, were able to quickly pivot to ensure not a single detail was compromised.

Pivoting to a Tented Wedding
We transitioned from an open-air ceremony to a sheltered one under a clear tent, and the ceremony space was transformed into something truly spectacular. The aisles remained a vibrant arrangement of colorful florals, creating a lush passage that led to a beautiful flower altar. Despite this being the backup plan, it was a breathtaking wonderland of a tented wedding we had never witnessed at The Wayback.

A Floral Wonderland
The reception echoed the ceremony's floral fantasy. Held under a spacious tent, guests could enjoy the beauty of the outdoors without worrying about the weather. The tables were set to echo the garden theme with more floral decorations, and as night fell, the string lights above added a little extra glow to the evening.

Maryn and Tanner's attention to detail was evident in every aspect of their wedding. The bridesmaids wore mismatched floral dresses, adding a playful yet elegant touch to the ensemble. Tanner donned sharp black cowboy boots, blending traditional Texan attire with the wedding's garden theme.

Special Touches that Make All the Difference
One of the most memorable surprises was the colorful tiki bar set up in our cabana. Maryn arranged this so Tanner could enjoy specialty tropical-themed cocktails during the reception. This personal touch surprised the groom and added a unique twist that guests talked about all night.

As the evening progressed, the bride swapped her dress for a floral ensemble to match the tiki bar mood. Flower leis and tambourines were handed out, turning the dance floor into a festival of love and music. Guests sipped cocktails from fresh pineapples and tiki glasses, dancing the night away under the Austin sky. Despite the unforeseen weather, Maryn and Tanner's wedding was a testament to the magic that can happen when you have a venue that cares and a vendor team ready to tackle any challenge. It was not just a display of beautiful design but also of efficiency, teamwork, and the ability to turn unexpected weather into an unforgettable part of the wedding story.
