This April, The Wayback hosted the most intimate spring wedding that was the perfect example of a whimsical spring wedding. With the ceremony taking place on our back lawn, this celebration showcased exactly why we are the perfect wedding venue for your intimate wedding. 

A Picture-Perfect Spring Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony took place on the back lawn, which is the perfect backdrop to any outdoor wedding ceremony. The couple chose to have their first look to the right of the ceremony set up, having a moment alone together before they said "I do" in front of their friends and family.

Shelby of Plan On It Events and Design transformed our outdoor space by adding in colorful florals from Ida Mayes Floral. The flowers were bright, yet felt rustic and organic in the ceremony space, where the bride and bridesmaids held bouquets of white flowers. Their design choices helped to combine the natural beauty of The Wayback while also leaning into flowers at the bride's request.

A Fashion Forward Bride

What truly set this spring wedding apart was the bride's unique floral wedding dress. Not only was her dress covered in colorful floral appliqués in maroon and light blue, but it had a maroon velvet ribbon for the straps as well as around the waist. These colors were not only featured on her wedding dress but also incorporated into the ceremony's floral arrangements.

Culinary Excellence for a Spring Wedding

Our Wayback Cafe team crafted a menu that was perfect for an outdoor spring wedding. Guests began with warm bread and butter alongside a fresh market salad full of the best spring produce. The main course was a filet with fingerling potatoes, fresh spinach, and caramelized onion butter on top.

The dessert selection offered the guests a choice between affogato, devil's food cake, EVOO lemon cake, and rich chocolate mousse. With each of these options, guests were able to enjoy a dessert (or two) of their liking. While the guests had those options, the couple's wedding cake was a Susie Cakes Bakery red velvet Lambeth cake that they cut into and enjoyed.
